I'm an English ex-pat who's lived around the world pursuing a high-level career in IT. About 10 years ago I found I was drinking most nights. I hadn't realised.
 
I'd lived on deadlines, stress, and red-eyes. I thought alcohol was my reward at the end of the day. Instead it was making my life harder.

I was exactly where many of my clients are now: successful, self-aware and daily drinking more than I wanted. Life looked fine on the outside, but alcohol had become my default reward, my evening crutch, and the thing that made everything feel easier. I loved French Chablis.
 
I tried cutting back, setting rules, and using willpower. Nothing stuck.
 
What finally changed everything wasn’t trying harder. It was understanding the real drivers and learning a completely different set of skills. In a matter of months, I went from daily drinking to alcohol becoming almost irrelevant, by changing my habits and my identity around alcohol.
 
That personal transformation is the foundation of how I work with every client.

Some weeks I have a drink and sometimes none at all. Fridays have turned into a day when I don’t drink at all and that used to be the start of it. I wrote a historical fiction novel called A Thin Line set during the Nazi occupation of Amsterdam.

I've lived in the UK, the Netherlands, the US, Germany, Switzerland and Spain, learning the local languages along the way.

I competed in the Glacier 3000 Run, placed third in team endurance karting and I'm a competitive quizzer.

I have terrible music taste. My Desert Island Discs list would be about two tracks long.
