Calm is the thing. What do I mean by that?
One of the reasons many people drink is to achieve a sense of calm. Especially after a hard day or when we feel stressed.
Back in the day that was me: I would reach for a glass of white and pretty much instantly feel that sense of peace and calm flood over me. It didn’t matter what had happened at work, it didn’t matter if the children were in a ratty mood. I felt a sense of tranquility come over me.
I was on the go all the time and highly productive and tended to feel a sense of guilt whenever I felt the need to sit in peace and quiet. But what I’ve come to realise is that this desire for calm is a very human need.
So that’s what I want to talk about today: the importance of focusing on calm. It plays a significant role in your transformation to achieving freedom around alcohol.
